ABOUT US
We are Coloquio 6, a wind sextet specialising in Harmoniemusik, a genre of wind chamber music of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. A large part of our work centres on arrangements of operas, allowing us to bring the emotion and drama of lyric theatre into spaces that feel closer, livelier and more communal. We understand music as a dialogue with the audience and aim to recover the social, communicative and celebratory character with which this repertoire was originally conceived. Accordingly, in our concerts we combine performance with spoken introductions allowing close interaction with the audience, and presentation of the historical instruments, creating transparent and lively experiences for today’s concertgoers.
