Through the Gardens of Vienna
It is likely that Harmoniemusik was one of the most popular musical genres in the second half of the 18th century amongst the nobility. Undoubtedly, Vienna was one of the locations where this genre was most prominent. Acclaimed composers and the finest instrumentalists dwelled in this city, full of possibilities.
This program takes the audience through the gardens of Vienna with the music that was in the air at the end of the 18th century; a musical stroll through the settings of famous encounters between composers and musicians, between the audience and nature. Throughout this journey are the magnificent original works for wind sextet by composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, and Danzi.
